Made In France. - In 1752, King Frederik V of Denmark commissioned Flora Danica, instructing that all flowers and plants of the kingdom be illustrated and studied, so that knowledge of nature could be spread. It took the reign of six kings over 120 years to complete this ambitious task and it culminated in over 3200 color drawings, printed in 54 books.
